Got Out Today

I did a reasonable 60min lifecycle @ 85% MHR, while watching the final stage of the Tour. It was pretty exciting, especially because of my favourite rider of the tour, Alexander Vinakurov. He was only a few seconds behind the 5th place rider, and he made an absolutely valiant, powerful, single-handed effort to beat out the Gerosteiner team trying to protect Levi Lipeheimer's 5th place at the intermediate sprints for the time bonus. And then, unbelievably, he made the greatest run a few kilometers from the finish line, attacking with break-aways, and staying ahead of the peleton for the final stage win. That's cycling. I hope he trains for the Tour next year, and makes a run for the yellow jersey.

I cooked lunch, and headed out to the casino to join friends in a $100+$25 no-rebuy Hold'em tournament. I hate tournaments, and never would normally play one, but I figured I'd get out and join them since I didn't see them on Friday. As planned, it was a waste of $125. I then played $1/$2 NL, and $1-$3 Hi/Lo Stud, and won about $25. But I lost $45 playing WPT All-In (a house game that I wrote some programs to analyze). Overall a waste of money. I left and decided to spend some money where'd I'd get something in return, so I went to the Apple store, and picked up a dock for my iPod Mini, some replacement in-ear phones, and an armband for the gym. Then I went to Whole Foods to do some dinner/grocery shopping.
