The Biggest Loser (Season 2, Week 11)

Last night was the last episode taped on the ranch. The remaining 4 contestants fought for the final 3 spots in the home leg of the competition. Next week will be the big live finale, where we see how the 3 finalists did on their own. It's been somewhere between 3 and 6 months since they taped that episode, so we should see some dramatic "after" footage.

Overall, the show was very inspirational, as usual. We saw the results the Losers accomplished during their stay on the show. The interviews were very emotional, and brought up the feelings of insecurity they had with their old weight, and how their new confidence and outlook make them feel like a different person. It's very inspirational tv. Ranks up there with the Olympics. I knew there was a reason NBC was always my favourite network.

you guys get the fun shows... although there is one Turkish weight loss program that they bribe the weight losers with gold to eat cake ;) 1kg of gold to eat a whole cake... i dont know, for 10,000 euros worth of gold would you eat the cake and lose the BIG SECRET PRIZE? >:-)>~ oooo the temptation

That's a tough one. A whole cake is like, what 7000 calories? In real life, it's no big deal, but in a competition, it'd probably get you eliminated at the weigh-in.

I love Biggest Loser as well - the first season just ended in Finland. It's my favorite show together with BBC's Diet Trial, where there are people on different diets competing who loses most. Long live reality tv!
You guessed right - French Women Don't Get Fat is a comparison of American and european/French food cultures. Very intriquing and makes sense on every level.

I think the more interesting concept is Why French Women Will Get Fat, which may already be addressed in the book. Meaning that the Americanisation of traditional cultures is inevitable, and obesity is becoming our #1 export.
