Tasty Food Diet

I'm on a fitness and weightloss mission, while looking for the best take-away food around.

78.0 kg

Made a new low this morning, mostly because I've been cutting back on my high-calorie dinners. I started following Jason's advice, and cook low-fat proteins, and eat them with more vegetables. Of course this works, but I've been suprised that I haven't been miserably hungry. Usually, when I hear claims of "I was never hungry" from people on a 1200 calorie/day shake diet, or the like, I roll my eyes, and say to myself, "sure, whatever you say". So I won't even make the claim. Anyways, Jason told me I'd feel a big difference when I got off the saturated fats (Tacos El Gordo, fatty chicken thighs, etc.). Well, yes, he may have a point.

I went to the Lucky Lady Casino last night for the first time in years. It was ackward saying hi to the floorman Steve, since I kind of just disappeared 2 1/2 years ago. But, these little casino reunions happen all the time. Regulars might disappear for a while, then suddenly come back.

The Lucky Lady is one of the last two licensed card rooms in San Diego, on a lease that expires when the owner Stan leaves this earth. The license is not transferable, since the city doesn't want card rooms anymore. The story seems to be that the city issued a lot of licenses back in the early 80's for some reason, until there was a glut, and a political scandal with the brother of the mayor. Or something like that. It left a bad taste in the city's mouth, and they decided that was that. The Lucky Lady is the last of it's kind, for a while.

Okay, so it was actually Very Anonymous Mike that pointed out that eating fatty tacos wasn't a good idea. I will buy his book when it comes out.
